Hummdrive is like the Spanish goalie. OH SNAP!

Captain Quail 102 - Foot the Ball (July 25, 2014)

When I wrote this comic, the world cup was still in full swing, and I thought to myself "Ah hah! Our chance at being topical!". Unfortunately, math was not strong with me, and I didn't calculate when this comic was actually going to run. Hopefully the comic comes off as somewhat relevant to current events. I was far, far more interested in the world cup this year than I can ever remember being.

Looking at the calendar reveals the greatest of truths. Today is Friday. Which means its time for our Webcomic O' the Week! So let's talk about Teenage Starship. I think I've mentioned how much I like Scott Pilgrim. If not take heed: I like it a lot. It should be no surprise, then, that I was immediately grabbed by the art of Teenage Starship. It is exactly the style I like, and matches the cat and rabbit main characters perfectly. The style contrasts the fact that the world of Starship is definitely post-apocalyptic. Something definitely happened to the characters and the world, and that continuing mystery is another part of what has drawn me in. I hope that the comic continues to update, and I can't wait to see where the story is going. Reading what I've said about Teenage Starship so far make me worry I'm not doing the work justice, so let me reiterate: Its pretty fantastic. There isn't a whole lot so far, but what there is great, and entirely worth reading.

I don't mention this often enough, but we definitely want suggestions for more webcomics of the week. Feel free to leave comics we should read in the comments, or on our twitter and facebook pages. Have a great weekend, and keep an eye on SDCC for us.

Thanks,

Philip
