Combes in scrubs would make an adorable plushie.

Captain Quail 79 - The Expo (April 29, 2014)

There is quite a bit of text to read in today’s comic, so I’ll try to keep the blogpost brief. Normally, when I think I’m going to write a short blogpost, its because I think I’m out of things to say for that day. The blank page is a terrifying thing, and I find it difficult to imagine how I will possibly fill it. Today, I’m pretty certain I really truly honestly don’t have that much to say.

I will say that KrakenCon seems like just a week ago, and we’re already gearing up for our next con. Big Wow Comic Fest happens mid-May in San Jose, and we’ll be giving a panel and having a booth in the Artists’ Alley. Everything I’ve heard makes me believe this is a much bigger con than Kraken, but neither Allison nor I have actually been, so it’ll be new terrain for both of us. If you’re reading this and live in the Bay Area, stop by the booth/panel and say hello! We’ll try to put a recording of the panel online again, because people seemed to enjoy that last time.

Vid’ya Games: I’ve played a fair amount of Hitman Go over the past week. I’ve haven’t played any of the other Hitman games, but any experience which is basically a single-player board game about sneaking and assassination has got me written all over it. I really like this game. Its incredibly frustrating at times, but it hits the same puzzle-solving joy that the Portal games do for me. My only regret is that I wish it were an actual board game I could play with more people. On the other hand, not having to actually set up a board and pieces, plus more configurations than could possibly fit in a cardboard box, is a pretty big plus. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go listen to Ave Maria.

Thanks,

Philip

PS: Hah. Tricked myself again. Wrote way more than I thought I would.
